Best Term Insurance Plans in India 2025–26 — Honest Comparison of Top 5

By Policywings Team•
Innovations in Term Insurance India 2025: Latest Products & Features

Choosing a term plan in India in 2025–26 is harder than it used to be — not because there are too few good options, but because there are genuinely five or six strong private life insurers whose plans are all defensible choices. The differentiation sits in specific features and CSR consistency, not in whether the basic product works.

This review compares five of India's strongest term insurance options side-by-side with verified data, so a buyer in Noida can make a genuinely informed decision rather than picking based on brand familiarity.

The Data Foundation

All CSR figures in this comparison are sourced from IRDAI's official annual reports and independently verified through Ditto Insurance's NL-37 filing analysis, Gyansurance.com's comprehensive guides, and the respective insurers' own official disclosures. Sources are cited inline throughout.

One Note on the September 2025 GST Removal

From September 22, 2025, GST (18%) was removed from term insurance premiums — per Policybazaar. This means term insurance premiums across all five plans are now effectively 18% cheaper than they were before September 2025. Any premium comparison using pre-September 2025 data should be adjusted downward by approximately 18% to reflect current prices.
